Our sleepy town of Hua Hin located approximately 200 kilometers South of Bangkok on the West coast of the Gulf of Thailand, is slowly but surely waking up and rapidly developing. It is the oldest, and most traditional, resort destination in Thailand with the attractions of a modern holiday destination mixed with the charms of an older fishing village from which it draws its roots.
Hua Hin was transformed from this fishing village into a Royal resort destination during the reign of King Rama VI (1910 – 1925), as a getaway from the busy metropolis of Bangkok. This resulted in the construction of the Royal Hua Hin Railway station, still standing today in its entire original splendor, in the 1920´s.
This was soon followed by the construction of the Klai Kangwon (Far from worries) Palace by King Rama VII (1926), which remains as the official Royal Residence, to this day, and is what has given Hua Hin its very unique identity. His Majesty King Bhumibol presently resides in the palace with Queen Sirikit.
Due to HRM King Adulyadej Bhumibol´s presence, the town is generally fortified by garrisons of troops including an elite parachute regiment, the Air Arm of the Royal Thai Police, and naval destroyers resulting in a virtually non-existent crime rate. A colonial style railway hotel, the Centara Grand was built in 1923 by the State Railway Authority.
Hua Hin have everything that a great Village needs, like Restaurants, Activities, Shopping malls, Sport places, GYM’s, Hotels, Guest Houses, Condos for rent and much more!
